But hitch hiking must have been accepted part in a country of travel. Some countries do not accept hitchhiking as a norm or do they take the arguments of a backpacker in saving his hard earned currency for being to be on the road for a longer duration.

But this is the best way to save on travel ,time, money and meet some interesting people. You can feel the pulse of the people and culture of the place at one go and the memories will linger a long time to come. But there are few tips to keep in mind.

Having said all this I had to hitch hike on a motor bike from Banaue Junction to saddle point as I had a sprain in the calf muscle and I could not walk the steep hill.My daughter and her friend had earlier hitch hiked on a mini truck, who was transporting building material for the roadworks to Batad. They reached much in advance and took a guide to reach the Batad Rice terraces.I was sitting in the Tea shop and looking towards the Rainbow magic which was coming up in the sky after a brief rain and enjoying the UNESCO Rice terraces at far off..
