I got up 6 am from my Bed and decided to take a walk in the Beach. There was little crowd with the locals preparing their boats for the days tour, men arranging dive gears, filling kerosene for the engines and going to market to get vegetables.Young girls were training little babies to walk on the sands.Wonderful sight to see
All the Pension Houses (Hotels) on the beach front are with young couples and their friends sipping their morning fruit juice, each one explaining the previous day adventure in El Nido and preparing for the days trip(A.B.C or D) to Islands.
The Beach vendors were preparing to greet the visitors who throng the beach by 8 am for their day long Island Tours with Souvenirs.I met one who knew Sharu Khan and was able to sing hit Hindi songs and said many Indians have started to come to Philippines and especially to El Nido.El Nido is very cheap compared to Phuket of Thailand offering the same serene inhabited ocean ,Greenery and Island hopping tours at one fourth the price.
As I walked further down to one end of the beach with rocks suddenly I saw a motorised tririkshaw with a woman in it coming through in front of me.I was wondering how a motorcycle run on sands. Then I realised that a small concrete road jetting out and vehicles were using to pass to this winding road to the hills.
A man was taking his baby in a motorcycle to the market to buy milk as his wife was watching till he is lost from her eyesight. Some were standing near the boats and asking for the rates for Island hopping. The advantage is here a group of 6 people is enough to hire a boat and go into seas to see the remote Islands.
One need not have to wait for a large crowd as in Phuket and the Philippines use small boats to traverse the the length and breadth of sea. After the Greeks Filipinos are most sought in Shipping lines as they are seafarers by birth with an archipelago of 7107 islands and many deadly Typhoons lashing the country without fail every year.
