World Is Connected In Dots And Lines

Kolam the traditional art is drawn in every house entrance be it a village or city and it requires patience and skill of the person to draw it in a systematic way connecting the dots with lines or arcs.Madras(chennai) which is the cultural capital of India conducts many festivals throughout the year and are centered around temples and sabhas. One such festival is jointly organised by Mylapore Times and Sundaram Finance is the Mylapore Festival in the month of January which is well received by the Public for many years.

Dangerous Fall In Good Company

Drowning takes many lives and I do not want my fellow Backpackers to be a part of it.Never play with water if you do not know swimming.Always talk to the locals about the water conditions before you take a plunge.I have read many articles on Tubing in Laos and how it is banned now.Our life is precious.Live to enjoy life and do not venture for the sake of fun.Below I give some statistics about the loss of human life in US for Travel Enthusiasts.

Beyond Language - Borobudur Temple A UNESCO World Heritage Site

We were visiting to Borobudur Temples which is retaining its one of the seven wonders of the world status in Indonesia. It was very hot and humid and we were completely soaked with sweat after our 40 km trip from Yogyakarta. But the joy and thrill of entering the famous UNESCO World Heritage Site made us to forget the inconveniences and concentrate on seeing the sculptures. The two magnificent temple complexes near Yogyakarta are Prambanan and Borobudur.

Travel Bites-Go By The Culinary Book

As I go on Globe trotting I come across Hostel;s,Home stays ,Street Joints where  I experience the taste of Local food at affordable prices.Being a vegetarian I have to see the food preparation with my own eyes before ordering them. Many times these little street chiefs give a big smile when I order my vegetarian combination to them and they are happy to see me devouring the food and not wasting anything. In places where I cannot communicate with the chefs like in Hongkong I am satisfied with Bread,Bun and fresh fruit juices. But I strictly follow these rules when I order my food.

1.There are several apps to check your food if it is safe to consume or not.

2.Avoid cut vegetables and fruits.Buy whole new ones and slice them yourself.

From Past Files- Houses in Indonesia

Home sweet home. All of us long to be back in our home after spending time outside. And also we are curious to know what is inside when we visit any new home.In Jakarta we decided to visit the Taman Mini Indonesia Indah National Park.We took the normal public bus to reach this location which is about 25 km from central Jakarta..But we went late by noon. One must be here at the opening of the park so that you can visit all the attractions leisurely and without skipping anyone. We were attracted by the model of the houses of the 27 provinces (current 33 )in Indonesia. In that we were able to peak in their houses without annoying anyone.

Journey Of Challenges-Sign Posts In Hongkong

I have travelled many Asian countries but nothing can beat Hongkong. The best Tourist friendly place but no doubt very expensive compared to other Asian countries. The moment you are out of the Immigration a big board with names of the important locations in Honkong combined with distance, time it will take to reach and the price you have to pay for taking different modes of transport welcomes you.It also has a very fast train  with limited stops to reach the major places escaping from the traffic jams but quite expensive.

Visa : Visa On Arrival At Manila Airport,Philippines

It is a nightmare for Backpackers to visit Embassy and stamp their passport with visa sanction to enter a country. But off late many countries are wooing Tourists with no visa fees for a stay of 14 days in their country. It helps many families to enter the country and see the places of interest without shelling any currency towards fees. The Air fares are also very cheap if you travel from major airports like Kulalumpur in Malaysia. Many Philippines air lines have a very attractive discount fares to reach Manila.

Beware Of Food At Snake Island In El Nido,Philippines

Having seen the news that you can get a free visa (matters a lot for Backpackers like me)on arrival in Philippines Manila,I decided to explore the country. You get frequent cheap flights to Manila from Malaysia KL airport and onward connection to Puerto princesa. My original plan was to explore the underground river which has been declared as one of the latest 7 wonders by UNESCO world heritage .But  having landed in PP seeing the heavy scorching sun and waiting time to get the permit to the river.

A Reason To Splurge In Hongkong

As I was coming back from the Goldfish market in Hongkong I happened to see this advertisement in a restaurant on the street..Newsweek has selected this speciality store restaurant as one of the 101 best places to eat in the world. The store was a small one may be it is having branches. Why this confusion I saw many Dim Dim Sum hoardings in any nook and corner of the streets in Hongkong.Of late I saw these words in Madras near Spencers outlets. As I am a Vegetarian I never venture inside.
