How to go around the UNESCO World Heritage site of Georgetown.Which one to see first.The Heritage buildings,Street Arts,The Penang Hill,The Temples,The Beaches,Old Clan Jetties,The Murals,Glass works ..the list is endless.Finally I decided to start with Heritage buildings sites walk.GT in Penang is Malaysia's most Tourists visited destination.
Georgetown is the oldest straits settlement and is covered with Dravidian,Fengshui,and Georgian Architectural Buildings.These buildings can be compared well with other beautiful colonial buildings of French Hanoi,Thai adopted colonial style in Bangkok and the famous Singapore colonial Area.
These buildings are cut out of unique style of Architecture in South East Asia with an inclusive mix of British,French,Portuguese and Chinese employing Malay,Indian arts as decorative fronts.
The fact that Georgetown is able to preserve its very large historic area quite intact compared to other sites in the region is noteworthy.the place is filled with historic trails which is very helpful to the tourists and that must be the reason why Travellers first come to Penang before moving to other attractions in Malaysia.
